I was visiting Barney’s the other day for a quick stop at Connor Stationery when I passed the Smythson area. And what did I find but the cutest little wedding planner book! A nice little “something blue” that would make a great engagement gift for a bride. (It comes in a beautiful white as well.) And it can be personalized with a little engraving! Too cute for words.

Fit To Be Bow-Tied

I spotted these amazing glasses while catching up on my Google Reader yesterday. They’re the Golden Triangles Drinking Glass collection from Dwell Studio, but don’t they look just like little golden bow ties? They have that sort of retro modern sixties vibe that I just love.

They’re a little on the expensive side, but they’d make a great addition to any glassware collection and a fantastic gift. Or, if you (or your lucky friend) is more of a vase person, they have those too!

Gift ‘Stache

I love glassware as it is a, relatively, inexpensive way to easily change the vibe of a tablesetting. Assuming, of course, that most of us don’t have an endless supply of various dishware. While this set of tumblers is more for cocktails than the table, aren’t they fun? A great shower or engagement gift… or as a Christmas present for recently married friends. And they won’t break the bank.

The poster I found earlier today reminded me of a poster I had seen – and loved – in Domino magazine. It was on the mantel in the living room of Jessie Randall (of Loeffler Randall).

I so loved this poster that I decided to see if I could find similar posters that so simply get the point across. I think any one of these would make a great gift for newlyweds!

Mix and match

I recently stumbled upon one of the best registry tools I’ve seen. The “Set Your Table” tool, a joint venture from Brides and Bloomingdales, lets you visualize your full table setting: china, glassware and flatware. My favorite part? You can mix and match! I’m really not into picking one full place setting. Personally, I think it’s boring and it’s much more fun to have a plate from one pattern, a cup from another, etc. It makes your table much more custom and personal and unique to you. Below is the table I pulled together. It wouldn’t be my ideal setting, but the tool’s options were somewhat limited despite Bloomingdales’ extensive offering (one of the few negatives of the tool), but it’s gets the idea across.

Love is Blind

I stumbled across this vase from Fluke Collective a few years ago, but unfortunately I can’t remember to whom I owe the credit for first posting about it. At any rate, I absolutely love it and have always thought it would make such a fabulous engagement or wedding gift. Only thing holding me back? The idea that “love is blind” might be implying I think the recipient must be blind to love the person he or she is marrying. Simple, modern and unique… I just think it’s a beautiful vase! So, don’t be offended if you get it from me.

I mean, honestly, if I like you enough to get it for you then you know how forthright I can be and can feel safe knowing that I already would have told you if I didn’t like the person you’re marrying!
